Darrin Van Horn overcame a flurry of punches from Luis Santana in the fourth round to take a unanimous decision in a nationally televised 10-round junior middleweight match at Lexington, Ky.
Van Horn (23-0) was stunned when Santana caught him with a right punch with about a minute left in the fourth round. But the 18-year-old sophomore at the University of Kentucky stayed on his feet and got back in the fight to control most of the later rounds.
Santana, a 27-year-old native of the Dominican Republic now living in Los Angeles, is now 29-6.
