Anaheim : Pair Escape in Car After Man Shot, Killed

A man was fatally shot Monday night in Anaheim by two people in a car who had just been speaking with him, police said.
John Otto Beday, 35, whom police described as a transient, was pronounced dead at Humana Hospital in West Anaheim of a gunshot wound to the head, Sgt. Ron Girk said. Beday was shot about 8:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of Irene Place.
Beday had been talking to two men sitting in a brown Toyota hatchback. After shots were fired, the two men fled east in their car on Rainbow Avenue. No motive has been determined, police said.
