Dip Into Post-Pool Prandial Delights

Light, refreshing food and beverages hit the spot after an afternoon around the pool. Cool, crisp fruit and vegetables, together with a tangy dip, make excellent accompaniments to lemonade, ice tea or cocktails.

Whatever’s in season may be used--apples and pears, as well as melons, grapes, kiwi, peaches and strawberries. Cherry tomatoes, squash, carrots, green or sweet red pepper strips, pea pods or green beans are just some of the vegetables that may be selected.

Bring everything outside and enjoy the cooling evening breezes and sunset. An ideal way to close the day.

TANGY BLUE CHEESE WHIP

1 cup whipping cream

1/2 cup finely crumbled blue cheese

1 teaspoon basil

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds, about

Assorted fruits or vegetables

Combine cream, blue cheese, basil and garlic salt in small mixer bowl. Beat until mixture thickens. Fold in almonds. Serve dip, sprinkled with additional almonds, with fruit or vegetables. Makes 2 cups dip.
