Afghan leader Najib said that he will offer official posts to members of the political opposition beginning July 15 and that a law allowing the creation of political parties will be passed, the Soviet Union’s Tass news agency said. Najib also said, however, that any new political parties will have to support nonalignment and friendship with the Soviet Union, according to Tass. It said Najib made the statements in an address to the National Reconciliation Commission in Kabul. Najib told the meeting, according to Tass, that “we are prepared to open the door to ministries . . . to all who are prepared to cooperate with us for the sake of peace.”
