Asylum Sought in Greece

SALONICA, Greece —
A young East German nurse swam across the river Evros, separating Bulgaria from Greece, and sought political asylum in Greece, police said Sunday. The 21-year-old woman swam for seven miles with a West German male friend and then gave herself up to Greek authorities, a police spokesman said.
