Revived Child May Not Have Been Dead, Roberts Says

Evangelist Oral Roberts said today a child he claimed to have brought back from the dead may not have really been dead.

“Whether or not the child was clinically alive or dead, I don’t know,” Roberts said. “The mother thought it was dead. I thought it was dead. The people in the congregation thought it was dead.”

Roberts told more than 5,000 people last week during a Bible conference that he had raised people from the dead and that God has told him he will return after his death to reign with Christ on Earth.

Roberts said today on his son’s television show that he will not be the only one to be resurrected.

“There’s going to be millions who are going to be raised from the dead. . . . Those alive when Christ comes are going to be caught up in the air to meet the Lord in the air. He’s going to take us up to heaven.”
