The World : Jamaica Tourists Attacked
A bus carrying 11 American tourists was ambushed in Jamaica by several armed bandits who killed the Jamaican driver and wounded a Baltimore woman, police said. The bus was en route from the Montego Bay airport to a hotel in Negril, about 80 miles northwest of Kingston, when it was stopped about 2:30 a.m. One of the bandits shot driver Radcliff Scott to death and wounded tourist Lori Eiseman. The gunmen then drove the bus to a nearby field, robbed the passengers and fled, police said. The bus company had not requested a police escort, normal for tourist buses along the northern coast, in part because the passengers’ flight to Jamaica was delayed, police added.
