Pasadena : $241-Million Budget OKd
The Pasadena Board of Directors has approved a $241-million budget for 1987-88.
The city’s operating budget, which funds government operations, increased by 14%, or $21 million, to $172 million.
The capital budget, totalling $69 million, will fund improvement and construction projects, including the restoration of City Hall, the construction of a new fire station in Kings Plaza and recontruction of the Villa-Parke Community Center.
The total budget will require no new taxes, but water rates will increase by 13.5% and garbage rates by 13% to cover the increased costs of those services.
