Marjorie and Hugo Morris were honored with the Helen Greenberg Achievement Award by the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley. Hugo, director of public affairs and statistician with the Joint Council of Teamsters, District 42, has been active in getting union and community members to register to vote. He is also on the executive committee of the Economic Literacy Council of California, the Commission on Health Care Costs of the California Medical Assn. and other state committees. Marjorie Morris has been executive director of the Child Care Resource Center of the San Fernando Valley since 1976. The nonprofit center provides child-care facilities for working parents. The late Helen Greenberg was a Valley resident, philanthropist and humanitarian. The annual award is given to citizens who have contributed to the community while promoting the values and goals of the Democratic Party.
