West Los Angeles : 100 Trees Will Be Planted on Medians

Share

Members of the Carthay Circle Homeowners Assn., the TreePeople organization and the Los Angeles Conservation Corps will plant 100 trees along the median strips of San Vicente Boulevard and Carthay Circle on July 11.

The $20,000 beautification project, which is being funded by donations from residents and corporations, was spurred by the construction of a 22-story office tower at 6500 Wilshire Blvd.

Representatives from Cadillac Fairview Urban Development, the developer of the office building, met with homeowners to work out a landscaping program that would preserve the residential character of the neighborhood. The company contributed $7,500 and was the main corporate sponsor.
