‘Boys Club’ Murderer Gets Life

Share

Joe Hunt, leader of the wealthy young men who formed the Billionaire Boys Club, was sentenced today to life in prison without possibility of parole for killing Ron Levin, an entrepreneur Hunt suspected of duping him in an investment scheme.

Superior Court Judge Laurence J. Rittenband told Hunt he believed it would be a greater punishment to spend life in prison than to be executed, “which also would have been appropriate.” Moments before sentence was imposed, Levin’s father, Martin Levin, described his son as “a sensitive, loving young man who was cut down in the prime of his life.” Ron Levin disappeared in 1984, and his body, believed to have been buried in Soledad Canyon, never has been found.
