Charles W. Fries, chairman and president of Fries Entertainment Inc., leaves today for several European capitals--including Moscow--to discuss the new World Television Alliances (WTA), the initial step in forming Universal Television System (UTS), a global network for the 1990s. Fries will schmooz with broadcasters in Moscow, Leningrad, Rome, Paris and London to outline the scope and goals for the new organization. While in the Soviet Union, Fries said that he plans to take in a few flicks at the Moscow Film Festival. “This effort,” Fries said, “will result in the development of television communications channels to provide the world’s viewers with free access to international TV programming in local languages anywhere on the planet.”
