The skipper of the USS Stark was relieved of his command because he was held to be responsible for the events leading to the damage to his ship. Whether he was on duty or not, whether he should have known what was happening, were held to be irrelevant.

Would it not be appropriate to apply the same standards to his Commander-in-Chief?
