Michael Mays, the adopted son of baseball Hall of Fame member Willie Mays, was in police custody after his arrest on gun and drug possession charges.
Mays, 28, was arrested at his New York apartment Saturday night after police responded to a call about an emotionally disturbed person. Police said they found two guns, several pills and a small amount of marijuana in the apartment.
Mays, who had been arguing with his girlfriend, told police he was suffering from Hodgkin’s disease, a form of lymphatic cancer.
