CALIFORNIA - News from July 17, 1987
Joan Behrmann, has been named executive editor of the Desert Sun, an evening daily based in Palm Springs. She replaces James M. Lycett, who retired after six years as editor of the newspaper. Karen Oppenheim continues as publisher.
Behrmann was previously entertainment editor and Los Angeles bureau chief of USA Today. The Desert Sun and USA Today are both published by Gannett Co.
