President Reported Near Decision on FBI Director

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan is nearing the selection of a new FBI director to replace William H. Webster, the new CIA director, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said Tuesday. He told reporters the President will announce his choice “soon,” perhaps this week.
