Avalon : Hearing on Sewer Fees Set
A public hearing will be held Aug. 18 on proposed increases in sewer connection fees.
The proposed fees--which would apply only to new connections--range from $809 for a shower to $10,875 for a restaurant with seating for more than 100. The fee now is $100 for any sewer hookup.
The money will be placed in a fund for future improvements to the sewage treatment plant.
The plant is undergoing a $1.5-million renovation.
