Hilton Hotels bid $122 million for the Dunes. Hilton joined a number of those interested in acquiring the Las Vegas hotel-casino, whose parent corporation has been in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings since November, 1985. John Anderson of Davis, Calif., is majority owner. Besides Hilton, which owns two major casinos in Las Vegas, another prospective buyer is Manami Shoji Co. Ltd. of Tokyo. Another casino operator, Golden Nugget, also has been named among those shopping the property, as have financier Kirk Kerkorian and Riviera hotel-casino owner Meshulam Riklis. Kerkorian sold the MGM Grand casino hotel properties in April, 1986. Southmark Corp. of Dallas has asked court permission to foreclose on $90 million of mortgage debt at the Dunes. A hearing is set for Friday.
