Duarte : Name Change on Agenda
The City Council will discuss a proposal to change the name of the city at a meeting on Aug. 4.
The proposal was made by the Chamber of Commerce, which is undertaking a petition drive to give the council an indication of the extent of support in the city.
The council can make the decision itself or place the issue on the Nov. 3 ballot, a combined City Council and school board election. Names under consideration are Rancho Duarte and Rancho de Duarte.
