The third and final defendant to be found guilty in the 1984 execution-style slayings of four members of former pro football player Kermit Alexander’s family was sentenced to death today by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Florence-Marie Cooper.

Darren Charles Williams, 27, a reputed gang member, headed the team of contract killers who participated in the murders of Ebora Alexander, 58; her daughter Dietra, 24, and her grandsons, Damani Garner, 13, and Damon Bonner, 8, authorities said. The four were killed when Williams and his accomplices, including triggerman Tiequon Aundray Cox, who was sentenced to death last year, entered the wrong South-Central Los Angeles home.
