Santa Monica : Construction Bids Rejected

Share

All bids submitted to build a second floor on the Cayton Student Center were rejected Monday night by the trustees of the Santa Monica Community College District.

The four construction estimates ranged from a $1.7-million bid from Pinner Construction Co. to a $2.1-million proposal by RJ Dahm Construction Co.

The district has budgeted only $1.5 million for the project, which will house student services and offices.

The architect now will modify plans to reduce costs. Revised plans must be approved by the student government of the college.

The trustees probably will consider a revised bid by November, 1987, according to the office of the assistant superintendent for business.
