Helene Hahn has been promoted to the newly created post of executive vice president of Walt Disney Studios, the motion picture and television subsidiary of Walt Disney Co., Burbank.

Hahn, who joined the company in 1984 as senior vice president of business and legal affairs for the motion picture division, will assume responsibility for labor relations and “will be involved in all facets of studio policy and decision making,” the company said, in addition to continuing to oversee negotiations of all talent, acquisition and distribution agreements in the motion picture unit.

The promotion makes Hahn, 39, one of the highest ranking women executives in Hollywood with responsibilities spanning both movies and television. Hahn continues to report directly to the division’s chairman, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and its president, Richard Frank.
