Steve Scott of Fallbrook overcame a field of experienced road racers to successfully defend his men’s Carlsbad 5,000-meter run title. His time was 13 minutes, 36 seconds, just four seconds off the world road-best record he set in last year’s race. Lorraine Moller of New Zealand won the women’s division in 15:35.
