U.S. Aid to Mexico

Share

The letter of Henry and Constance Katzenstein said the way Mexico City rebuilt the city and took care of its own people after the earthquake there should put Los Angeles to shame, that Los Angeles cannot even take care of its homeless.

Have the American taxpayers so soon forgotten that after the Mexico City earthquake our Congress voted $75 million in aid to help rebuild the city?

If the same disaster happened here in the U.S., the American citizen would have to take out a loan and repay it in order to rebuild. America is now listed as the biggest debtor of all nations and yet we continue to give our money to other countries and don’t always take care of our own.
