Sewage Leaks Into Lake Hodges
A sewage leak into Lake Hodges has prompted authorities to stop drawing drinking water from the lake until bacteriological tests can be conducted, a county official said Tuesday.
Ken Calvert, a hazardous materials specialist with the San Diego County Health Services Department, said that the decision was a standard precautionary procedure. He said that the San Dieguito Water District, which serves Escondido and several other North County communities, had ample alternative water supplies.
