The Dallas Cowboys have become the first NFL team to give voluntary AIDS testing, and club President Tex Schramm said that all of the players who took the tests passed.
“Fortunately, everybody was negative,” Schramm said. “It helps to know that we have an AIDS-free club. There has been a lot of concern that AIDS blood can be transmitted from a carrier to someone who has an abrasion. There are a lot of cuts and scratches in football. . . . We have a responsibility to offer this service.”
