Hollypark Quarter Horse Meeting to Open
The $20,000-added Pap Handicap at 870 yards will be the featured race tonight as Hollywood Park opens a 35-day summer quarter horse meeting. First post for the nine-race card is at 4 p.m.
Racing will be conducted Wednesdays through Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. weekdays and at 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day.
Calyx, the top distance horse of the recent Los Alamitos meeting, drew the rail and will be the co-highweight at 123 pounds in the Pap. He will be ridden by James Brooks.
Say Native, with John Ward aboard, also will carry 123 pounds.
