A second suspect was being sought Saturday by Los Angeles police in connection with a cache of homemade bombs found in a Canoga Park apartment, police said.

Arthur May III, 26, was arrested Friday after he returned to the apartment at 8900 Topanga Blvd., where police had found improvised explosive devices, LAPD spokesman Dan Cooke said.

No one was injured in the incident, but the apartment building was evacuated briefly and an ambulance and fire truck were called, said Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

The bombs were taken away and dismantled without incident, Cooke said.

Detectives were led to the apartment at 3:30 p.m. by an informant. The Fire Department arrived shortly after 5 p.m. and remained until 10 p.m., Wells said.

May was being held at the Devonshire Division Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond on suspicion of possessing a destructive device and explosives. No court date had been set.
