Remark Called Insult

Regarding “County Board Slashes Aid to Homeless 58%” (July 18):
As a resident of George Bailey’s supervisorial district, I am appalled at his callousness toward the unfortunate. His blanket statement about the chronically homeless using general relief money “to buy a bottle” is unconscionable and adds insult to injury. His tactlessness is showing, let alone his lack of compassion and understanding of this complex human issue.
Such leadership on behalf of East County residents leaves much to be desired. Let the record show that George Bailey does not speak for me on this issue.
