The Chicago Bears began workouts in 100-degree heat at Platteville, Wis., with quarterback Jim McMahon saying he’s right on track in his recovery from shoulder surgery less than eight months ago.
“I’m feeling all right. I’m doing everything I was doing last year,” McMahon said after throwing about 30 soft, short passes in the morning session. “They want me to limit my throwing in the morning, then throw normally in the afternoon.”
He said he hopes to be ready for the Bears’ first exhibition game at Miami Aug. 16.
