Down’s Youth Will Sell Autographs

Share

Three years ago David Coxon, a 13-year-old with Down’s syndrome, began collecting autographs of the famous people he’d see on television. As his collection started to grow, his mother, Cathy Head of Las Vegas, began to see potential for its providing him with financial security as an adult.

When the time was right, she and David agreed, they would put the collection up for sale, in hopes of raising enough for a down payment on a home to be put in trust for him. That eclectic collection now numbers about 700 and includes four Presidents, Jackie Gleason, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Paul McCartney, Margaret Thatcher and Michael Jackson.

She has decided the time is right; she plans to move the family to St. Petersburg, Fla., where she formerly lived, and buy that house for David. Persons interested in David’s collection may contact Head at (702) 435-3077.
