Housing survey: A Los Angeles research firm is surveying 5,000 senior citizens in the Mission Viejo area about housing issues. Results compiled by Senior Living Research Associates will be combined with those of similar studies in other areas of the country for recommendations on the design of retirement communities. Victor Regnier, associate professor at USC’s Andrus Gerontology Center, said the study is needed because the number of senior citizens is growing rapidly, creating a need for more quality retirement housing.
