Conclusion of the Iran-Contra Hearings

Share

With the Iran- contra hearings now over, it’s interesting to note just who did not appear before the committee.

Whatever happened to Vice President George Bush? Isn’t he a member of the National Security Council, therefore privy to all its consultations? Certainly he is a member of the cabinet and might reasonably be expected to know something of what went on. Why did none of the committee interrogators take issue with his absence, and demand that he be cross-examined?

Furthermore, much has been laid at the feet of deceased CIA Director William Casey. Why then not question his secretary? If (Lt. Col. Oliver North’s secretary) Fawn Hall’s testimony is deemed of value, this reader wonders whether Casey’s secretary might not prove even more so.
