Los Angeles police Friday made public a photograph of Thomas Robison, 18, wanted for attempted murder in the shooting of stunt man Henry Kingi, estranged husband of actress Lindsay Wagner, after a traffic dispute in Studio City last week.

Robison, who police believe once lived in the Sherman Oaks area, is suspected of shooting Kingi in the arm and chest about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 1, police said. The shooting followed a quarrel at the intersection of Ventura and Laurel Canyon boulevards between Kingi and seven youths in a Jeep, including Robison, police said.

Lt. Ron LaRue, head of detectives at the LAPD’s North Hollywood Division, said Robison is believed to have attended North Hollywood High School. Police hope that releasing his photo will encourage someone to report his whereabouts.

“There’s no doubt there are people out there who know where he is but haven’t told us,” LaRue said. “He’s out there, and he must be hiding out with somebody.”

Riding With His Son

The shooting occurred after the Jeep pulled in front of Kingi’s car and angry words were exchanged, LaRue said. Robison and the other youths got out of the Jeep. Kingi, who was riding with his 4-year-old son, also got out of his car.

LaRue said Robison pointed an automatic pistol at Kingi’s head and pulled the trigger, but it did not fire. “I’m going to assume that he meant to kill him right there,” LaRue said.

Robison then kicked Kingi in the groin and fired again, hitting Kingi in the left arm and chest, LaRue said.

Kingi was in satisfactory condition at his home. His son was not injured.

The other youths were apprehended about 30 minutes later, after witnesses halted a passing police car and gave officers the license plate number and description of the Jeep and its occupants, LaRue said. Robison apparently escaped on foot, he said.

The other youths were questioned but were not charged because “they weren’t involved other than being in the vehicle,” LaRue said.
