AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: Remember Wings, the band Paul McCartney played in after the (ahem) Beatles? Capitol is releasing a two-record greatest-hits collection from the group, which will feature all the predictable top numbers (“Jet,” “Helen Wheels” and “Band on the Run”) as well as several unreleased tracks uncovered in the McCartney vaults. . . . Texas songstress Katy Moffatt (who made a surprise appearance at Dave Alvin’s Roxy show the other night) has signed with Wrestler Records, which will release her new album, “Rough Mixes,” in September. Produced by Steve Berlin and Mark Linnett, it features back-up help from members of Dave Alvin, David Lindley and Charlie Sexton’s current bands. . . . Our Album Title of the Week goes to Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper’s new record, “Bo-Day-Shus!!!,” just out from Enigma Records. How can you not be looking forward to a record that features such loopy material as “Elvis Is Everywhere,” “Don’t Want No Foo-Foo Haircut” and “I’m Gonna Dig Up Howlin’ Wolf.” . . . And our Personal Appearance of the Week goes to the Dead Milkmen, who will host a “Moo Day” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Texas Records in Santa Monica. The highlight: a cow-milking contest with an 800-pound cow as featured guest. Prizes will be given away, and the band is expected to offer an acoustic performance.
