Judge Bork on Civil Rights

President Reagan is urging the Senate to judge Supreme Court nominee Bork on his merits and not on his ideology.

The President must have lost his place on the card that is reportedly prepared by his aides for him on various statements, when he made this remark.

Karl Marx was probably a “great guy,” if you didn’t consider his ideology in judging him.

Also, if it weren’t for a difference in ideology, we would have an altogether different attitude toward Russia.
