Koyama Takes Top Honor in Beautification Awards

Koyama Landscaping, Temple City, won the 1987 Sweepstakes Award at the 32nd annual beautification awards presention of the Los Angeles-San Gabriel chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Assn.

The honor, the chapter’s highest, went to Glen Koyama for work on the Enelow project in Santa Monica.

Four Special Awards went to: Toddco Landscape Inc., West Los Angeles, for the Holden Group executive patio; Garden View, Sierra Madre, for the Kawashima residence; Jessie & Alex Landscaping Inc., Marina del Rey, for the Colby residence, and Britton Landscapes/Cornell & Wiskar Landscaping Inc., for the Moseley residence.

Nine Special Achievement Awards were presented at the ceremony at the Luminarias restaurant, according to awards chairman Harold Britton, who added that 48 projects were entered in this year’s contest.

Medium residential installation--Toddico Landscape Co. Inc., Los Angeles; Levy residence, Los Angeles.

Large residential installation--Lukes Gardening, Bellflower; Ruiten residence, Cypress.

Small residential renovation--Koyama Landscaping, Temple City; Pott residence, San Marino.

Large residential renovation--Jessie & Alex Landscaping Inc., Marina del Rey; Colby residence, Beverly Hills.

Condominium installation--L. Barrios & Associates Inc., Irwindale; Casa Las Palmas, Baldwin Park.

Commercial installation--Garden View, Sierra Madre; Cooper, Sandborn, Brown.

Large residential maintenance--Britton Landscapes, Pasadena; Moseley residence, San Marino.

Small commercial maintenance--Toddco Landscape Co. Inc., Los Angeles; Holden Group Executive Patio, Los Angeles.

Large commercial maintenance--Kono Landscape Service, Los Angeles; Villa Vallarta H.O.A., Los Angeles.

Public works--Mariposa Landscapes Inc., South El Monte; City of Rosemead.

Also, there were nine achievement awards presented.
