Guide to Camps Under $10

Share

There are 200 free campgrounds in the United States and Canada, and nearly 4,000 campgrounds that cost less than $10 a day. A Rand McNally guide lists these inexpensive vacation sites in two volumes, “Camp for Under $10 a Day” ($5.95).

The directory lists the services at each campground, recreation, the number of tent and trailer sites, acres and elevation, time limit of stay, availability of firewood, condition of sanitary facilities and the fee, if any. Road maps and toll information are also provided.

The “1987 RV Park and Campground Directory” ($12.95) may be used as a companion to the campground guides. Also published by Rand McNally, the directory lists more than 19,000 campgrounds, public and private, in the United States, Canada and Mexico. A list of hunting- and fishing-license fees and section on boating and water sports are included.
