Tourism officials in Liverpool, the birthplace of the Beatles, are cashing in on Japanese mania for the British pop group by sending an exhibition to Japan this year. Sponsored by the 50,000-member Japanese Beatles Fan Club, the exhibition will open in Tokyo in October featuring paintings, photographs, sculptures and graphics associated with the four musicians. More than 5,000 Japanese made pilgrimages to Liverpool last year to visit places associated with the group.
