“The Color Purple” looks as if it will be bounced out of the No. 1 postion on the Billboard magazine rental chart by “Crocodile Dundee” in the next week or two. “Crocodile” should debut on the sales chart in the No. 1 position and reign until “Star Trek IV” debuts in the fall. Enduring rental hits: “Heartbreak Ridge” (No. 7) and “The Color of Money” (No. 8). “Jane Fonda’s Low Impact Aerobic Workout,” on the sales chart 44 weeks, basks in the No. 1 position, at least temporarily. Nostalgia corner: The 1967 James Bond flick “You Only Live Twice” is selling again, thanks to a reduced price tag--$19.98--and the renewed interest in Bond because of the new release, “The Living Daylights.” The old Bond reentered the sales chart at No. 19. Two Disney cartoon packages are in the sales chart Top 10--”Here’s Mickey!” (No. 4) and “Here’s Donald!” (No. 9).

This stylish thriller, directed by Bob Rafelson and starring Debra Winger and Theresa Russell, did decently at the theaters but wasn’t really a smash. There are great hopes for it in the video market. It entered the rental chart at No. 14 this week and should wind up in the Top Five.
