Telly Savalas, apparently unconcerned about Geraldo Rivera’s ignominious unveiling of Al Capone’s vault on live TV, will be the host of a syndicated program featuring the opening of the Titanic’s safe. The safe is scheduled to be raised from the Atlantic later this month and the TV show, packaged by Westgate Productions, is due to air in October. Savalas, who played the evil salvage captain in “Beyond the Poseidon Adventure,” said that if the safe turns up empty, “we’ll have another Geraldo Rivera-Al Capone fiasco.”
