MCC Moving Church to Culver City
The Los Angeles “mother church” of the homosexual-oriented Metropolitan Community Churches has purchased a Culver City property for more than $1.25 million and will move from its downtown site, the old Belasco Theater, next week, Pastor Nancy L. Wilson announced.
The purchase, one of the largest ever in the Hollywood-based, 250-church denomination, encompasses five properties, including what was once the Kings Tropical Inn and was recently used for a stained-glass factory.
The site will also house Samaritan College, the seminary for the denomination, which usually enrolls about 30 part-time students. The school is now located in the Mid-Wilshire District.
