Hawthorne : Planning Director Resigns
Planning Director Patrick Brown has resigned after only nine months to become community development director in Carson.
Brown, who worked as a planner in Carson from 1968 to 1971, will start his new job Sept. 24. He rejoins the staff of Carson City Administrator Richard Gunnarson, for whom he worked when Gunnarson was community development director.
Brown replaces Patricia Nemeth, who left Carson in May to become director of environmental planning for the Southern California Assn. of Governments.
Hawthorne City Manager R. Kenneth Jue said planner Mike Goodson will be acting planning director until a permanent replacement is hired.
