Joseph Hansell has been appointed to the new position of associate vice president of administration for Costa Mesa-based Emulex Corp., with responsibility for human resources, facilities, staff services and travel.

Hansell joins the company from Nichols Institute, where he was vice president of personnel and support services. He has also held positions with American Hospital Supply Corp., Rockwell International and Litton Data Systems.
