Azusa : Raiders’ Move Endorsed
The City Council has endorsed the City of Irwindale’s efforts to provide a new home for the Los Angeles Raiders and will ask Supervisor Pete Schabarum to support the project.
Councilman Lucio Cruz suggested the appeal to Schabarum, noting that Irwindale is seeking approval to use county land for parking for the proposed stadium, which would be built in a gravel pit. Mayor Eugene Moses said Azusa has received inquiries from two developers interested in building hotels in the city if the Raiders move to nearby Irwindale.
