Whittier : 3 Sidewalk Projects Funded

The Whittier City Council has approved spending $147,000 for three sidewalk improvement projects during fiscal 1987-88. Sidewalks are to be constructed on the north side of Mar Vista Street east of York Avenue, on Penn Street from Painter Avenue to Canyon Drive and on Whittier Boulevard from Santa Gertrudes Avenue to La Serna Drive.
In other action at Tuesday night’s meeting, the City Council wrapped up its financial involvement with the Whittier centennial celebration. The council dissolved its Centennial and Extravaganza committees and forgave a $50,000 advance to the Extravaganza Committee.
