W. N. Dib, Former Lebanon Consul
Wadih N. Dib, a former Lebanese consul general in Los Angeles, died Monday in St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank.
He was 81 and had retired in 1984 after Lebanon began sending career consuls to its offices in the United States.
Born in Lebanon, where he studied law, he was a deputy attorney general there. He came to the United States in 1935 intending to return to his homeland, but married and settled in Los Angeles.
He became consul general here in 1955, the second person to hold the post.
Survivors include two sons, a daughter and a granddaughter.
