Ike Turner Held on Drug Charge
Entertainer Ike Turner, once married to singer Tina Turner, was arrested for investigation of cocaine possession after being stopped for alleged traffic violations in West Hollywood, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
Turner remained in custody this morning after his arrest on Santa Monica Boulevard just west of Doheny Drive on Wednesday night, Deputy Pete Fosselman said. Bail was set at $2,500. Turner, who lives in Cerritos, was listed as 54 on arrest reports, Fosselman said. A passenger in Turner’s 1971 Lincoln Continental, Willie James Smith, 40, of Cerritos, was booked for investigation of possession of cocaine for sale. His bail was set at $5,000.
