Westwood : Recreation Center Being Built
Construction has begun on a $5-million recreation center north of Westwood Park that will include three tennis courts, a swimming pool and a basketball court.
The center, located between Veteran Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard and south of the Federal Building parking lot, is scheduled to open at the end of next year, said Michelle Krotinger, spokeswoman for Los Angeles Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky. The project is being paid for by the city Recreation and Parks Department.
