Stanford University’s Zeta Psi fraternity chapter has voluntarily agreed to disband for five years in the aftermath of an April 21 drinking party that led to the death of member David Dunshee, 20, who drowned in Lake Lagunita with a blood alcohol level of 0.25%--more than twice the legal level of intoxication in California. A report had recommended that the chapter be suspended for a long time because of repeated violations of campus liquor policies. The fraternity only recently regained recognition after being suspended for misconduct in 1981. Chapter President Neil Hanson said, however, that the agreement to disband was prompted more by low morale and a declining membership.
